Oystersteel case retains the model’s defining fixed 24-hour graduated steel bezel, paired with a highly legible black dial and the oversized orange arrow-shaped 24-hour hand that traces its design heritage back to the original Ref. 1655 from 1971. Chromalight-filled hands and hour markers emit a long-lasting blue glow, while the date at 3 o’clock is magnified beneath Rolex’s signature Cyclops lens. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, screw-down Twinlock crown, and 100 meters of water resistance reinforce its tool-watch character. It provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and is regulated to Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer standard of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing. Most importantly, the independently adjustable local-hour hand makes the 226570 a true “flyer” GMT: the wearer can jump the main hour hand forward or backward without stopping the movement, while the orange 24-hour hand continues displaying home time.
