Details

The Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M Ref. 2220.80 is one of the most recognizable modern Seamasters, forever associated with Daniel Craig's debut as James Bond in the 2006 film Casino Royale. The watch marked an important transition in the Bond franchise, introducing a new generation of 007 while preserving the iconic blue Seamaster design established during the Pierce Brosnan era. Its 41mm stainless steel case features the signature blue wave-pattern dial, skeletonized sword hands, luminous hour markers, and a matching blue aluminum unidirectional diving bezel. A date window at 3 o'clock, domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and distinctive helium escape valve at 10 o'clock reinforce the watch's professional diving heritage. Rated to 300 meters of water resistance, the Seamaster is fitted with Omega's classic multi-link stainless steel bracelet featuring a folding clasp and diving extension. The combination of its rich blue dial, scalloped bezel, and classic case proportions gives this generation a distinctive character that has become increasingly desirable among collectors of neo-vintage Omega watches.

Inside is Omega's automatic Co-Axial Calibre 2500, a COSC-certified chronometer movement operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour and delivering approximately 48 hours of power reserve. Based on a modified ETA 2892-A2 architecture, the Calibre 2500 incorporates George Daniels' revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, designed to reduce sliding friction within the movement and improve long-term mechanical efficiency. This movement represented a major advancement over the Calibre 1120 found in the earlier Bond-era Seamasters, making the 2220.80 an important evolutionary reference in the Seamaster collection. Its cinematic connection is equally significant: Daniel Craig wore this exact model in Casino Royale, including the famous train scene with Vesper Lynd, in which Bond confirms his preference for Omega over Rolex. Unlike the separate Casino Royale limited edition Ref. 2226.80, the 2220.80 is the standard-production reference actually worn by Bond in the film. With its iconic blue wave dial, dependable Co-Axial chronometer movement, professional diving specifications, and direct connection to one of the most celebrated James Bond films, the Seamaster 2220.80 stands as one of the defining Omega sports watches of the 2000s.
